The First Trade

In this scenario, the Bills pay what has become the standard value (on top of a first round swap) for the right to select the quarterback of their choosing with the 5th overall pick.

The Broncos, in this case, are able to move down and pick up two first round selections, as well as a premium third round selection.

You might think the Broncos should just take the quarterback in this scenario with both Josh Allen and Josh Rosen on the board, but there’s no one else on the board until the Dolphins at pick number 11 overall who would be a threat to take a quarterback.

There are other teams that would threaten to take a quarterback, however, and those teams include the Dolphins, the Cardinals, Chargers, Patriots, Bengals, Steelers, and more.

If the right quarterback falls, teams will be willing to move down.

The Broncos would have to play their cards right here, but this pick would give them two additional top 65 picks and two picks in round one to play with.
