4. Third Round (99th overall): Josey Jewell, LB, Iowa

I can’t lie to any of you.

When I found out the Broncos were having Josey Jewell to the team facility for a pre-draft visit, I freaked out for a brief moment.

The Broncos will obviously have eyes on a number of linebacker prospects in this year’s draft, but for my money, there’s no one they could get on day two who is more instinctive than Josey Jewell.

At Iowa, Jewell was not only a tackling machine, he was the leader of the defense and a game-changer. Though he doesn’t have the quick feet to keep up with Saquon Barkley running full speed and making a quick cut (but who does?), Jewell more than held his own in coverage while at Iowa and was always in the right place at the right time.

This would be the ideal third round linebacker to me.
