Taking a look at what could very well be the ideal 2018 Denver Broncos mock draft. What might be considered a best case scenario?

What you might consider an ideal five-round mock draft for the Denver Broncos could be vastly different from what I would consider to be an ideal mock draft.

With that being said, I’ve decided to throw out there what I would consider — two weeks prior to the 2018 NFL Draft — to be the ideal draft for the Broncos.

No more fluff. Let’s get to the mock…

1. First Round (5th overall): Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA

Josh Rosen would be the ideal pick at number five overall, in my opinion.

Rosen, to me, has always been the most ‘pro-ready’ quarterback in this year’s draft class. I’ve lumped him in with Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield as the non-consensus top quarterbacks overall in the class.

Some feel Josh Allen is lumped in that group as well, but I personally do not have Allen as one of the top three most NFL-ready players at this position.

Rosen is a different story.

Rosen has everything you look for in a quarterback prospect, but there are a lot of people he rubs wrong with his opinions and philosophies on life in general.

The Broncos have done some serious vetting on Rosen, and brought him to the team facility and brought him for an overnight stay in Denver which included dinner with team officials and a face-to-face meeting with President/CEO Joe Ellis.

You think the Broncos are interested in this kid? We have no other knowledge that any prospect has gotten a face-to-face with Ellis.

Everything about this pick would excite me, but mostly, the fact that Rosen has a genuine disdain for the New England Patriots. Not only is this guy good at football, he gets joy watching the Patriots lose.

I want that player quarterbacking the Broncos.
