Mississippi State OT Martinas Rankin Visits Broncos
By Tylor Walden
The Denver Broncos have met with Mississippi State’s offensive tackle Martinas Rankin as part of one of their pre-draft visits on Tuesday.
Denver is looking to get better at offensive line. The team has made a solid move in signing Jared Veldheer. But they might look going a bit further. This is where Martinas Rankin could come into play.
Mike Klis has confirmed that the Mississippi State tackle has indeed visited the Denver Broncos on Tuesday. For a team that could really use some help at the offensive tackle position, this could be an important visit for John Elway and company.
According to Lance Zierlein over at NFL.com, Rankin is projected to be drafted sometime in day two. The biggest strength on Martinas Rankin is his ability to play all five positions on the offensive line. We all know John Elway enjoys offensive linemen that can be flexible on the line. Drafting Rankin gives Elway a versatile option on the offensive line.
Chances are we would not see Martinas Rankin see the field for a long period of time until next season. However, having a player of his caliber on the roster would benefit the team in the long run.

Rankin comes in at six foot, five inches and just north over 300 pounds. Not too bad for an offensive lineman. He has quite a bit of strengths. He also has some weaknesses in his game as well. If he can improve on his abilities as an offensive tackle, it could be a sneaky pick up in those rounds.
For a team needing some help on the offensive line, it would be wise if John Elway drafted him in case the team misses out on players like Quenton Nelson or Will Hernandez. Martinas Rankin could be the player for the job.
