Denver Broncos: 2018 NFL Draft hat designs released
The Denver Broncos’ 2018 NFL Draft hat design was released on Tuesday. The hat design will be worn by draftees and will be available for purchase…
The Denver Broncos have the fifth overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, and whichever player is drafted will get a new hat from New Era to rock while they tour the Broncos’ facility for the first time, meet with the media, and depending which player the Broncos take, they might wear it across the stage at the draft in Dallas.
Every year, the cap design for the NFL Draft is always a big release event for New Era, and the Broncos’ design was among the first to hit the Twittersphere.
Here’s your first look:
Here’s what I like about this hat design.
More from Predominantly Orange
- Broncos chances of landing Sean Payton dwindling, but not gone
- Denver Broncos dream coaching staff for DeMeco Ryans
- Denver Broncos: “Sleeper” David Shaw checks every box
- The Broncos’ coaching search likely has not gone to plan
- Special Chiefs Suck Offer: Bet $5, Win $150 if Joe Burrow Passes for ONE YARD vs KC
First of all, even though grey is not a primary color in the Broncos’ scheme, I love this particular shade for a hat. I really like the color combined with the Broncos’ orange.
Second, I really like the idea of the team’s nickname being prominent on the hat. Broncos Country is part of the identity of the fan base and the franchise in general and it’s exactly what these rookies will be joining.
Here’s what I do not like…
The design of the hat is not strong to me. I hate that the words ‘Broncos’ and ‘Country’ should not be different sizes. They’re the same number of letters and the other designs have a much more unified size of the text. The Broncos’ design doesn’t look as good as the other ones here, even though I’m not a huge fan of the other ones either.
Maybe it’s just the overall large size of the hat and the text that is throwing me off here, but this design just doesn’t stand out to me in a good way. I would have condensed the size of the text a bit and made it look a little more sleek rather than in-your-face.
All of that being said, I will almost undoubtedly buy the hat anyway when it becomes available for sale.
