Fourth Round (106th overall): Shaquem Griffin, LB, Central Florida

Why Shaquem Griffin?

The Denver Broncos have lost a number of key special teams players over the past couple of seasons, and Shaquem Griffin — in my opinion — has the potential to be the best special teams player in this entire draft.

If the Broncos take a guy like Leighton Vander Esch in round two, this pick could perhaps become less likely, but I think the Broncos could use a couple of players at the linebacker position and Griffin can really move all over the defensive formation.

He can cover, he can play the run, he can rush the passer, and he can race down the field and make tackles on special teams.

For what he provides in the game’s third phase, this pick would be worth it. For his ability to contribute in a variety of ways defensively, this pick is a steal.
