Denver Broncos: Updated 2018 NFL Draft needs
Needs Rankings
Of course there are other areas the Broncos would like to address that weren’t discussed at length in this article. The number three receiver position is in question, though the Broncos have players like Carlos Henderson coming up who can make an impact there.
If I were to rank the urgency of each need the Broncos have right now, I would probably rank them like this:
1. Guard
2. Inside Linebacker
3. Quarterback
4. Cornerback
5. Tight End (veteran)
6. No. 3 Receiver (veteran)
7. Tackle
8. Running back
9. Pass rusher
10. Defensive line
11. Safety

I think the Broncos could really benefit by adding a starting caliber player at guard, cornerback, and inside linebacker this year yet. That doesn’t mean they need to find three starters at those positions, but getting players that could step in and start at those spots as rookies could prove huge because they are one injury away from really needing someone.
In the case of the right guard position, they just need a permanent solution and upgrade there.
You might be wondering why quarterback is so far down the board, and that might need explaining in another article entirely, but I really do feel like the Broncos have a stable enough quarterback position for the next three years (Keenum could be tagged, Broncos can pick up Lynch’s contract option, Kelly under contract) to do well there, but do they have the long-term answer?
That’s why the QB position is listed in the top three here.
Still, I could make arguments that at the present moment, none of these positions are pressing areas of need for the Broncos, which is a great spot to be in heading to the draft, offering ultimate flexibility.
