Third Round (71st overall): Kyle Lauletta, QB, Richmond

There are a lot of rumors going around about Kyle Lauletta right now. There are many who feel like he could be a second round player, and there are some who are even sneaking him into the first round of their mock drafts.

Lauletta may go in the latter portion of the second round, but there are enough concerns with him as a prospect that I think the third round is about the earliest we could see him go, unless some team on the back end of round two just can’t live without him.

Allow me to explain why Lauletta both falls to the third round, and why he’s also a good fit for the Broncos.

Some scouts and talent evaluators feel like Lauletta’s arm strength may be a concern at the next level. He throws with good anticipation, but one analyst felt like his 35 interceptions over the past three seasons were a result of his arm strength, and the play speed at the NFL level is only going to increase.

With that being said, I feel like Lauletta has a lot of very nice tools to work with. At the very least, this is a player with upside to develop as a potential starter in the NFL and someone who can pick up the offense quickly.

If the Broncos don’t take a quarterback at number five overall, he’s among my top five targets outside round one.
