First Round (5th overall): Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame

The Denver Broncos need a game-changer with this top pick, and Nelson is that.

There’s no doubt a quarterback could be in play here, or perhaps the Broncos will fall in love with one of the draft’s top defenders or Saquon Barkley.

But Nelson has annual All Pro written all over him, and I think honestly he’d be a steal with this pick.

When you talk about positional value, guard is certainly not a position you would normally pick in the top five, but this player specifically necessitates it. Nelson is as nasty as they come, technically sound, and I think he makes everyone around him better.

For the Broncos, this pick would help Garett Bolles tremendously, as well as Matt Paradis on the interior. Nelson is one of the best prospects I have ever evaluated.

He would be a great pick for the Broncos here, solidifying a position of weakness and giving them at least four quality starters on the offensive line.
