The Broncos are apparently interested in signing at least one linebacker, reportedly offering contracts to their own in-house players Corey Nelson (who signed with the Eagles) and Todd Davis, who has yet to make a decision.

If the Broncos re-sign Davis, that’s fine.

If they don’t, there are some other options out there that could upgrade the Broncos’ defense, but I would personally rather look to a deep draft class at off-ball linebacker.

Jon Bostic had a nice season for the Colts last year, and is a run-stuffer like Davis. Davis might be the best player of this group, but he’s also 29 years old and the Broncos are trying to get younger all over their roster.

If Denver wants to go the veteran route at linebacker, they should look into former Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson on a one or two year deal.
