Cornerbacks

Rashaan Melvin, Colts; E.J. Gaines, Bills; T.J. Carrie, Raiders

The Broncos need a second/third cornerback.

The pecking order right now is obviously going to be Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Roby getting the majority of snaps, but the Broncos play in the nickel so frequently, a number three corner is a virtual starter for them.

There are some really reasonable deals being thrown around at cornerback right now, and the Broncos should cash in by signing someone up on a four-year contract that will look like a bargain compared to what top tier players will make on the open market.

At an average of $5-8 million per year, I think the Broncos could snatch up someone like Rashaan Melvin (who blossomed under the tutelage of new Broncos cornerbacks coach Greg Williams with the Colts), E.J. Gaines (who is a phenomenal nickel option), or Travis Carrie, who has familiar with both Joe Woods and Marcus Robertson on the Broncos’ coaching staff.
