The Denver Broncos exercised the $4M contract option clause in Demaryius Thomas contract which keeps him in Denver for two more seasons.
Demaryius Thomas was on the receiving end of off-season speculation regarding his future with the Denver Broncos. After today, that speculation will disappear as the Broncos picked up Thomas’ $4m contract option per Denver Post’s Nicki Jhabvala, a deal that keeps him in Denver for two more seasons.
Ironically, the Denver Broncos signed their starting QB Case Keenum to a 2 year deal that keeps him in Denver for the same amount of time.
Thomas is considered one of the most unappreciated Denver Broncos players of all time. Enduring highs and lows during his career, Thomas has proven one thing. He never quits.
Last season, the Broncos went an abysmal 5-11 on the season, but Thomas never hung his head. Against the New York Giants, he caught 10 passes for 133 yards while dealing with an injury.
His performance in that game was a prime example of heart and resiliency.
Unfortunately for Thomas, the last two seasons his production saw a decline due to quarterback play. In the two seasons following Peyton Manning’s retirement, he caught a total 10 TD passes combined in those two seasons.
Thomas previously caught 36 touchdowns from The Sheriff over the course of 4 seasons. For Denver, bringing Thomas back was a no-brainer.
Now the primary focus for Denver is adding an additional piece at wide receiver that can make it difficult for defenses to bracket cover him and Emmanuel Sanders.
Broncos Offensive Coordinator Bill Musgrave has an entire off-season to construct his system to the strengths of Denver’s players.
Emmanuel Sanders already tweeted out his excitement and approval of Case Keenum as his quarterback.
Demaryius Thomas 2018 Forecast
Adding a quarterback was the primary goal of John Elway and the Denver Broncos. For Demaryius Thomas, the addition of Case Keenum will be a massive upgrade from what Thomas experienced in 2017.

Without a doubt, Thomas has the opportunity to develop extensive chemistry with Keenum compared to having to adjust to a new quarterback every week.
I believe Thomas production will improve drastically with Keenum under center. Having a quarterback that can get you the ball is the first step to success.
Gone are the days of Trevor Siemian locking onto DT, here are the days of Demaryius Thomas running down the sideline, touchdown Denver!
