The Denver Broncos and Case Keenum are set to unite on Wednesday when free agency officially begins. Having Keenum sets the Broncos up for the long run.

Well, this Denver Broncos news was quite a surprise to wake up to this morning. As this writer was peacefully slumbering the night away, John Elway made a big move. Case Keenum will be a Denver Bronco on Wednesday afternoon.

The former Minnesota Vikings quarterback intends on signing with the Denver Broncos once free agency officially begins on Wednesday afternoon. It will be for two years and $36 million dollars. Not too bad of a deal. Especially seeing what Kirk Cousins will be getting from the Minnesota Vikings.

Financially, it was a good move. My only gripe about it was that Aqib Talib will no longer suit up in orange and blue. It pains me to know he is not on the roster. But that is how it shaped up.

Turning the focus on Case Keenum, the Broncos get a trusted veteran that led the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game last season. His numbers were solid, throwing for over 3,500 yards, 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

But what exactly does this move do for the Denver Broncos for the 2018 season and beyond? I began to ponder that and realized that no matter how this ends, the Broncos are potentially set up for the long run.

What do I mean by that? Well, I will be breaking it down.
