Low-risk, high-reward trades the Denver Broncos should make

Another trade I would love the Broncos to look into is with the Miami Dolphins, sending running back C.J. Anderson and one of their two fourth round picks to the Dolphins for offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James and a fifth round pick.

The swap of picks is representative of the value of players involved, as well as the amount in money each team is taking on.

Neither team is getting a player with a guaranteed contract, so there is zero dead money involved here. The Broncos are filling a bigger need with a more expensive player, so that’s why they’re both giving up and getting a pick.

I would give up a starting running back and move down a round from fourth to fifth to get a starting right tackle.

The Dolphins may hold out for more than this, or they might also try and extend James while lowering his cap hit this year, similar to what the Jaguars just did with Blake Bortles.

James would be a great pickup for the Broncos at right tackle, and there have been rumors the Dolphins would move him for the right price. Anderson seems likely to land in Miami via free agency if/when he’s let go by Denver anyway, so they might as well help each other out.
