“No Fly Zone” took a significant hit Thursday night as Denver Broncos Aqib Talib heads to Hollywood, but there’s optimism in the Mile High City.

So it begins… Back in 2014, Aqib Talib signed with the Denver Broncos in one of the biggest spending sprees under John Elway. Once he came the Broncos, it created a stellar secondary. Talib was reunited with ex-Kansas Jayhawk teammate Chris Harris Jr. Together they formed a bond of formulating the “No Fly Zone.”

It is certainly a tough pill to swallow from Denver’s secondary. However, for the Denver Broncos to sign a potential quarterback and others, the team needed to create room. This move frees up around $11 million in cap space with potentially more cuts to follow. This move adds the cap space to around $35 million.

To start, C.J. Anderson’s seat is boiling hot as he might be looking for a new home. Keep an eye out for that one. A potential release of Anderson moves the room to around $40 million. Elway told Menelik Watson he’d be back. It is worth noting maybe he meant right now. All that can change quickly.

Once all the moves are done, the Broncos could look at around $50 million in space if they play their cards right. This would open that door wide open for a quarterback to be signed. There’s also other positions of need from the Denver Broncos. Offensive line, linebacker, wide receiver, and tight end are some of the key places to start to look at once free agency begins.

Since we are talking about the recent release of Aqib Talib, Denver will be in the market for a third cornerback. A name that pops up might be Aaron Colvin. Talib was one of the players over the age of 30. It’s appealing to go younger in the defensive back unit. Colvin is 26-years old and a prime candidate to take a next step in his career. He is a hot candidate for me to add much needed depth at corner.

It all starts and ends with the quarterback. Yet, look for the Broncos to address offensive weapons to entice quarterbacks to play in Denver. Quarterback is priority one but it may not be the first signing of the free agent period, remember that.

Unfortunately, Aqib Talib is first potential domino to fall.
