Draft Assets in ’18

The Broncos, in addition to having excellent salary cap assets moving forward, have some of the best draft capital in 2018.

Were it not for the Browns having two top five picks, you could argue that Denver’s draft capital this year is the best in the league.

They have six selections in the top 110, and they have four picks in the top 99.

That’s huge.

Unlike other teams that might have four picks in the top 99, Denver’s pick is near the top of every round. You don’t necessarily celebrate the reason you’re in that situation, but you have to take advantage of it.

If Cousins is on board, the Broncos would be free to pursue a number of stellar options in the 2018 NFL Draft. They could go after guard Quenton Nelson, who would immediately solidify their interior offensive line.

They could trade down, accumulate more assets, and draft offensive line in the middle of the first round.

There are a lot of ways the Broncos can maneuver around this draft if they have a big time quarterback like Cousins in the fold.
