Does Aqib Talib Prefer to be Released by Denver?

According to reports, the Denver Broncos are looking to trade Aqib Talib. But the veteran cornerback does not like the idea and wants to choose his team.

It appears as if the Denver Broncos and Aqib Talib could be headed towards a divorce. As much as Broncos Country does not want to see it, it looks like it could happen. But Talib wants to decide where he wants to go. It is that important to him that he would prefer to be released?

According to Dianna Russini, the Broncos and 49ers have been in trade talks to move Talib to the Bay Area. But that is not what he wants. In fact, Russini says that the trade might not happen and Talib wants the Broncos to release him so that he can choose his team.

That team that he prefers, is the New England Patriots. Wanting to return to Boston?

Say it isn’t so Aqib!

I know that this is a business, but it hurts to see a player that played a key part in the Super Bowl championship team to pack his bags and play elsewhere. It is just rough that the Denver Broncos are in a situation that involves having to part ways with some great guys.

It is understandable. And I can see Aqib Taib’s reasoning for wanting to go to New England. He wants to play for a contender and he does not have that many years of football left. So, I completely get that. What I don’t understand is why Denver does not want to restructure his deal? That way he can be a part of the process that can hopefully bring a new title to Denver.

We shall see what happens in the coming days. But from the looks of things, I am not a fan.
