Third Round (71st overall): Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia

With C.J. Anderson likely gone via trade or release, the Broncos will have a need for depth at the running back position.

One player who makes some sense to replace Anderson as a ‘bell cow’ type of back is Nick Chubb, who would also give the Broncos an infusion of explosive athletic ability at the position.

Chubb’s athleticism doesn’t often translate to dazzling runs, but this is a very consistent player who is hard to tackle upon initial contact, and is deceptively fast when he gets into the open field.

I know I personally was shocked to see him run a 4.53 in the 40-yard dash after his major leg injury a couple years ago, but he proved he’s more than back to top physical shape.
