Second Round (40th overall): Mike Gesicki, TE, Penn State

Of course the Broncos have needs on the interior offensive line, as well as the tackle position, but in round two, I don’t know if there’s a player they could get at that point that will have more value than Gesicki, who is 6-foot-7 and runs a 4.55 second 40-yard dash with a 41.5-inch vertical jump.

In other words, this guy is a mismatch in the passing game.

The Broncos drafted Jake Butt in the 2017 NFL Draft, and have a chance to add one of the most athletic players at the tight end position to complement him in this year’s class.

Gesicki worked with the Broncos’ coaching staff at the Senior Bowl, and spoke very highly of his time working with tight ends coach Geep Chryst.

Thinking about a combination of Gesicki who can split out and Butt in line along with the other weapons in the Broncos’ passing offense with Rosen slinging the ball around gets me excited.
