Ross Cockrell, New York Giants (age: 26)

2017 Stats: 16 games (9 starts), 49 total tackles, 3 INTs

After being drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Cockrell ended up on the Pittsburgh Steelers just one year after being drafted and then traded by the Steelers to the Giants prior to the 2017 season.

It’s rare to see a cornerback with his combination of size and speed get moved around this much during their first four years in the league, but things really didn’t completely come together for Cockrell until this past season.

By the end of the 2017 season, Cockrell was clearly one of the best and most consistent defensive backs on the Giants’ roster, and entering his age 27 season, he may be one of the most underrated free agent cornerbacks in football.

If his price tag is around $7 million per season, the Broncos could give him a four-year deal with some nice guaranteed money and set themselves up very nicely at the position again for the foreseeable future.
