Rashaan Melvin, Indianapolis Colts (age: 28)

2017 Stats: 10 games (10 starts), 36 total tackles, 3 INTs

Although Melvin is already 28 years of age, he’s worthy of a four-year contract in free agency, and has a really strong connection to the Denver Broncos in new defensive backs/cornerbacks coach Greg Robinson.

Robinson helped elevate Melvin’s game to the level that, it seems like he may be one of the more coveted defensive backs on this year’s market. That being said, this is a very deep group of defensive backs in free agency, and Melvin has only started 19 games over the past two seasons.

With his length and playmaking ability on the outside (one of the highest percentages of passes broken up and interceptions per pass target in the NFL), this is a player the Broncos would probably love to be able to get. He’s worked well with one of the coaches on their staff, he’s younger than Talib, and will most likely come in at roughly half the price.

He suffered a season-ending hand injury in 2017.
