Denver Broncos second-year tight end Jake Butt is expected to be a ‘full go’ by the time Spring rolls around, according to head coach Vance Joseph…

As the Denver Broncos get set for a critical NFL free agency period, one huge boost on the roster could come in the form of a 2017 day three draft pick.

Former Michigan tight end Jake Butt, an All-American who suffered a torn ACL in January, 2017 is finally healthy and expected to be a ‘full go’ according to Broncos head coach Vance Joseph at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.

At last we had heard in regards to Butt, there was a slight chance he would come off the non-football injury list at some point this past season, and in fact had progressed to the point of some on-field practice work.

After getting a look at him for a couple of weeks, however, the Broncos opted to shut him down for the season and not take any major risks.

Just passing the one-year mark since his major knee surgery in January, that could prove to be a very wise decision.

Butt was widely considered a first or second round prospect prior to his injury.

Even after the injury, many felt like he might sneak into the end of day two because of how good he is, but the Broncos were able to land him with the top pick of the fifth round.

That pick was considered again by many to be one of the top steals of the draft, because when healthy, Butt is a player that can play in-line, he can stretch the field, he can rack up yards after the catch, and he can give you a reliable weapon in short yardage and on third downs.

Butt has starter potential in the NFL, and the Broncos will get really their first great look at him this Spring as he is finally back from a major injury.
