Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks came together on some of the best fits at quarterback league-wide, and picked Case Keenum, Josh Allen for the Broncos…

There have been plenty of quarterback scenarios tossed around for the Denver Broncos in the 2018 offseason, but what about this from two of the most highly respected guys at NFL.com?

Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks came together on a piece where they laid out the top quarterback options and what their best fit in the NFL would be.

For the Denver Broncos, they thought the best fit(s) would be Case Keenum and Josh Allen as a package deal.

This isn’t going to overly excite a lot of Broncos fans, but it’s important to note that different evaluators have different opinions of both of those guys than many in Broncos Country, specifically in regards to Josh Allen.

I’ve just recently come around to the idea of Keenum if the price is right, because I don’t think his market could possibly exceed that of Blake Bortles ($18 million average salary per year). If that’s the case, signing Keenum might not prevent the Broncos from taking a quarterback at number five overall, but they would also have to convince Keenum to come aboard with that as an option.

I’m not so sure Keenum would go for it. I think he’s tired of playing second fiddle, tired of guessing whether or not he’s going to play week to week, and at age 30, is probably looking for the place he can get the most guaranteed cash and the most years to prove himself as a viable NFL starter.

He certainly did so in Minnesota this past year.

I think the best fit for Keenum is staying with the Vikings where he’s built a great chemistry, personally, and the best fit for Allen could very well be Denver but I don’t think it’s coupled with the addition of Keenum.

If the Broncos want Josh Allen, then the best fit on the veteran market would be someone like Josh McCown who could almost act as a player/coach.

To me, signing someone like Keenum would have to almost prevent you from drafting someone fifth overall, simply because of the money and years he will likely require in a contract. I feel like that’s being underestimated at this point.

Keenum isn’t going to willingly go to a situation and accept the possibility of playing second fiddle. It seems like he’s excited to finally be wanted. There are other teams besides the Broncos and Vikings that will pursue him.

In a perfect world, the Broncos would be able to get Keenum at a reduced price and not have to commit too many years while also drafting the quarterback of their choosing at number five overall, but I seriously doubt that will happen.
