In another edition of prospects to look at for the Denver Broncos, we look to Florida for a potential replacement for Derek Wolfe in Taven Bryan…

Taven Bryan started out as an unknown draft commodity, but his stock has risen significantly and he is creeping into first round buzz territory. Bryan would never have been on my radar if Mile High Huddle’s Nick Kendell hadn’t have pointed Bryan out. There Bryan’s rise made me think about a possible option for the Denver Broncos in round one.

It is not the most popular opinion to draft a defensive line prospect, since it is a strong suit for the Broncos right now. However the neck injuries for Wolfe still are cautionary and should be. Bryan has plenty to love in his game that reminds of Wolfe. Yet, Bryan can be so much more than that. Bryan has ferocious hands, motor, and hair on fire mentality that seems to be durable.

One of Bryan’s greatest strengths as a defensive lineman is versatility. He can play on the inside or outside. Also, not to mention the possible fit with Broncos defensive line coach Bill Kollar. Kollar loves players that heed coaching and see it to fruition. Bryan seems like Kollar’s ideal type of guy.

Bryan is the kind of talent that might make everyone around him better. Those players at times could be once in a generation and are also hard to predict. It may seem irresponsible to use a draft pick on Bryan in the first round, but if he’s there and best player, take him!

Von Miller himself would be happy about this quick step from Bryan.

In the tweet above is proof of how fast Bryan reacts to the snap of the ball and how he utilizes his hands. Bryan also has the wherewithal to display perfect position to deflect the offensive linemen.

‘A complete player’ seems like the right way to describe Bryan. There is a good chance he will not be a Bronco come April, but he needs to be on the radar as an addition to the defensive line that could reach 2015 heights with Bryan on the roster.
