Updated 2018 Denver Broncos mock draft: Finding the missing pieces, and how the Broncos can get back into the Super Bowl hunt…

It’s Monday, and that means it’s time for another Denver Broncos mock draft update.

At this point, we have no idea what the Broncos are going to do or, maybe better said, what they’re going to be able to do in free agency, but everything hinges on the decision made by Kirk Cousins and where he will spend the next five or six years of his playing career.

Even looking objectively, I think the Broncos stand a really good chance of signing Cousins. Obviously, I’m not alone in that, and it’s not just blind optimism of Broncos fans to think they could land Cousins, but his decision changes everything, one way or another.

If the Broncos do not sign Cousins, I think it almost locks them in to taking a quarterback with that fifth overall pick. If they sign Cousins, it obviously opens up the options quite a bit.

Therefore, these exercises are an even more inexact science before free agency.

I’m going to operate this mock draft as though the Broncos are signing Cousins to a long-term deal. They present Cousins with a great situation now and into the future, so let’s take a look at how they could supplement the Cousins signing in the draft and how they might fill the rest of their roster holes…
