Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota Vikings

When the Denver Broncos had the 31st overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and selected Bradley Roby, I would have been just fine had they drafted Teddy Bridgewater at the time.

Bridgewater, to me, was wrongfully falling down the board in the first round of the draft, and the Vikings traded up with the Seahawks that year to make him the last pick in the first round of 2014.

A gruesome knee injury at Vikings camp a couple of years ago has put Bridgewater’s progression on hold, and nearly put his career in doubt.

Bridgewater wasn’t putting up jaw-dropping stats by any means, but in 2015, I have a hard time forgetting the progression he made as a player and how he and the Vikings nearly came into Denver and beat the eventual Super Bowl champion Broncos.

If Bridgewater is capable of playing health-wise, he’s an intriguing option to me, but the Broncos would need a contingency in the draft to go along with him.

I would sign Bridgewater to a two, maybe three-year deal and put the guaranteed money all up front to protect the team. I would sign him for $6-8 million per season, and include some performance incentives.
