Offensive linemen normally fly under the radar, but Denver Broncos center Matt Paradis has become that reliable player protecting the quarterback.

Matt Paradis has come a long way from where he was when the 2014 season began. Thought not to be strong enough, he was sent to the practice squad and stayed there during the entire 2014 campaign.

It was not until Gary Kubiak arrived the following year that Matt Paradis would prove just how great of a player he can be for a sixth round draft pick. While competing with Gino Gradkowski for the starting center job, Paradis proved what he could do and impressed Kubiak.

He earned the starting center job. Matt Paradis has not looked back since that day. Despite all of the shifts on the line. Despite all the injuries. Matt Paradis has earned the role of Ironman on the Denver Broncos roster.

He has found a way to start every game and play every snap since Kubiak named him the starter in 2015. Not to mention he is in rare company when it comes to those numbers. We have seen Broncos Country talk about how the offensive line has been the past few seasons. But one of the most consistent guys on that line in the one snapping the ball to the quarterback.

His performance the last three seasons has impressed me. It has shown in a big way. He may have dropped a bit in his numbers last season, but for a guy who played the entire season with two surgically replaced hips, he’s doing a dag gum good job.

Matt Paradis will be a restricted free agent during this offseason. Paradis’ performance the last three seasons deserves an extension of some sorts, no doubt about that.
