Denver Broncos: Five underrated free agent options
Cameron Fleming, OT, New England Patriots
Fleming has been something of a swing tackle for the Patriots since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Stanford.
He will be just 26 years old this season, and I think Fleming has proven he’s capable of being a full-time starter at the right tackle position in this league.
He’s not as proven as free agent tackles were last season, but of course there’s a premium price on the position he plays and the Broncos would have to pay up a little bit.
Of course, fans might not like this type of risk, as the Broncos have tried to take guys from other teams that were high upside backups and spot starters, and we’ve seen how that has worked out (Donald Stephenson, Menelik Watson).
But thankfully with Fleming, injuries don’t seem to be an issue (as they were with Stephenson, Watson) and it seems as though he’s really developing nicely as a player. He also fits the size profile the Broncos seem to require in a right tackle.
