Third Round (pick 2/2): Josey Jewell, LB, Iowa

This is a pick you may have seen me make a time or two, but I’m going to continue to pound the table for this guy.

Some view him as a second or third round player, while others view him as a day three guy.

I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just draft this guy and prosper.

Josey Jewell has some of the best instincts of any player in this year’s class at the linebacker position, and it’s a good year for that position (off-ball, specifically).

Having watched him play every year in college, I can say with confidence you can put this guy into your starting lineup immediately and know that he’s going to make plays.

Playing in this Denver defense, in a 3-4 base, I like Jewell’s outlook even more. This is also a player that can cover and make plays on third down in that regard, but he’s a weapon who just understands the game really well.
