It’s Monday, which means it’s time for another Denver Broncos mock draft scenario.

This week, we’re going to take a look at a scenario involving the Broncos signing Kirk Cousins and making a trade down and out of the fifth overall spot.

The Broncos would certainly still be in an enviable position with the fifth overall pick to be able to select a premiere player for this draft, but it seems the strength in this draft is not necessarily in star power, but in the depth of the class as a whole.

Next year’s draft class will also have some very high quality prospects, at areas of need for the Broncos (receiver, defensive line) and that must be factored in as well.

That’s why in this scenario, I’m projecting the Broncos strike a deal with the Arizona Cardinals in the draft, one that could change the course of the franchise for Denver if they are able to also land Kirk Cousins.

Even for those who are hesitant about spending money on Cousins, I think this is a scenario that everyone could get on board with. Here’s my full first round mock draft over at NFLMocks.com, so you can see exactly the scenario I’ve laid out where this could be plausible.
