Option #2: Kirk Cousins

The second best option for the Broncos this offseason is to sign Kirk Cousins to a lucrative, long-term contract.

Why is that second best?

I’ll explain in the next slide.

Adding Kirk Cousins would excite me. The Broncos are a team ready and hungry to win. They have more needs than just quarterback, but I think if they had a good quarterback like Cousins, a guy who is proven in the NFL at this point, they could have contended for a championship each of the past two seasons.

This team is just different when they get even decent play from the quarterback position.

Cousins would stabilize and solidify the position for the Broncos, but would also significantly hinder their cap flexibility this year.

Even with that being said, the Broncos could suffer a bit against the cap with their top five draft selection and with the cap increasing annually, whatever deal Cousins receives this offseason could seem like a bargain three years down the road.
