Two years ago, the Denver Broncos won their third Lombardi Trophy by beating the Carolina Panthers by a score of 24-10 in Super Bowl 50.
To this day, the Denver Broncos winning Super Bowl 50 feels like a dream that Broncos Country was waiting 17 years for. Super Bowl’s 32 and 33 brought some exciting memories. Seeing Denver win their third ring was nothing short of amazing.
Two years ago on this day, the Denver Broncos were able to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the third time in franchise history as they defeated the Carolina Panthers. The NFL Most Valuable Player of the Year Cam Newton was no match for the Denver Broncos defense. The team forced four turnovers and recorded seven sacks.
Looking back, the Broncos defense was in control for the majority of the game. The only big scoring drive they allowed was towards the end of the first quarter and into the second. The drive could have been limited if there were no penalties by the defense.
After that touchdown drive, the Denver Broncos defense stepped up and only allowed three points the rest of the way.
The game provided a lot of excitement, relief, and tears as Broncos Country got to see their team win the Super Bowl. Von Miller proved during that game and in the playoffs how much of a force he can be on defense. We got to see Peyton Manning ride into the sunset. And the end of the game will always be remembered for the four words that John Elway shouted at the end.
