Sign Le’Veon Bell

Some might look at this and scoff, but the Broncos’ options in this year’s draft increase dramatically if they go after a veteran quarterback like Foles and sign someone like Le’Veon Bell.

The Broncos would have to make a significant financial commitment to Bell, but like they did with Aqib Talib back in 2014, they could put a number of stipulations in Bell’s contract that would allow some security on their end as well, should he get another suspension from the league.

Bell is about to be 26, and if the Steelers let him go to free agency, he could command upwards of $10-12 million per season on a new deal. If you aren’t paying a quarterback big money, you could justify this kind of move, and I’m going to do just that.

Signing Bell would give the Broncos a true superstar in their offense, something I don’t believe they have right now. Signing Bell would also provide a quarterback like Foles with stability in the running game and you could win games by pounding the ball on the ground.

Bell has certainly gotten a lot of touches and you worry about the longevity of the running back position in the NFL, but you could sign him to a deal where essentially the first two or three years are guaranteed, and you can get out of it after that.

This move would allow you to trade C.J. Anderson for more draft assets, and give you a core stable of backs of Bell, Devontae Booker, and De’Angelo Henderson.
