Trading for Nick Foles

The Denver Broncos have to be impressed with what they’ve just seen over the course of the postseason from Nick Foles, as would any team be.

The Eagles’ dominance offensively over the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots was really something special, and it’s hard to imagine teams won’t highly value Foles after the display he’s just put on.

The Denver Broncos have a connection to Foles in Bill Musgrave, who was his offensive coordinator in 2014 with the Eagles.

Is Foles the type of player you can build around? I think it would be tough to put all of your eggs in that one basket, but you could justify trading a second round pick to the Eagles, and maybe a conditional future pick to get him.

After all, Foles has proven he can be an effective quarterback in this league now in multiple stints with the Eagles, and I felt like he did pretty well with the Chiefs as well (at least, statistically he did).

Looking at Foles’ body of work outside of the one year he played with the St. Louis Rams (2015, when they were the worst team in the league), he has an overall win-loss record of 18-10. When you look at what the Broncos’ options are this offseason outside of Kirk Cousins, Foles may be arguably the best veteran option.

So, though it would be tough, I would be willing to send the Eagles the 40th overall pick and like I said, possibly a conditional 2019 draft pick for Foles, and start the rebuilding process there.

But we’re not done…
