Final Thoughts

I think I may have convinced myself that the best option for Cousins is to sign with the Vikings. If the interest is mutual, I foresee the Broncos becoming the favorites to sign Case Keenum and then use that number five overall pick on a quarterback.

That’s definitely not my preferred option, because it means you’d be paying Keenum the type of money that would require him to go into the season as the starter, instead of just playing a rookie, but this Broncos team wants a veteran quarterback.

If they’re going to do whatever it takes to get a veteran player in-house, I’d rather not spend a ton of cash on Keenum and go for a player like Tyrod Taylor, then draft someone at five overall and try and get him on the field as soon as possible.

The main point of all this is to say that there’s a real possibility that Cousins won’t sign in Denver, as good of an option as they are.

The Broncos may have to look at other options and should definitely be prepared if Cousins decides to don purple for the best years of his career.
