The Washington Redskins have moved on from Kirk Cousins, who has his sights set on a winning organization. The Denver Broncos are a perfect fit…

Kirk Cousins is set to be the most coveted free agent since Peyton Manning in 2012, and the Denver Broncos are hoping the results of their pursuit are similar to what they were of Manning’s in 2012.

Cousins is in Minneapolis making some appearances at Super Bowl LII media days, and got the chance to shed some light on what he wants in his next situation, as well as how he found out about the Alex Smith trade to Washington.

Here’s some of what he had to say:

Ultimately, we have no clue what Cousins is thinking. As fans of the Denver Broncos, we would obviously like to believe that Denver presents the best situation, both o the field and off.

The Broncos are a world-class organization, and among the teams reportedly pursuing Cousins –the Jets, Bills, Browns, Vikings, Jaguars, Cardinals, and Broncos — the Broncos are the only ones that have won a Super Bowl since the Jets won one in 1968.

Obviously Cousins doesn’t have to base his decision off of the past success of teams, but there’s only one team on this list that has proven they can win it all and that team is the Denver Broncos. Perhaps the biggest selling point on the Broncos is a championship window in the prime years of Cousins’ career.

Cousins talked about wanting to be remembered by a fan base as a winner, and Denver has consistently been a place where obviously the quarterback is maybe the most beloved of all local sports heroes, from John Elway to Jake Plummer to Peyton Manning.

The tradition of quarterback play in Denver is something that Cousins could etch his name into.

Personally, I believe the Broncos to be the best situation for him, but obviously he’s going to take his time to make the decision he feels is best.

Without saying Broncos, though, it’s hard to listen to what he says and think he wouldn’t want to play for Denver.
