When you need the defense to dial up a game-winning play, you can count on Von Miller, the best closer in the NFL today…

Since we talk about the Denver Broncos all the time, it’s all too easy to forget the greatness of Von Miller.

Miller’s impact was diminished slightly this season by the fact that the Broncos weren’t competitive almost all year long, but that didn’t change the fact that this is one of the most disruptive players in the game today.

As a matter of fact, I would be willing to go so far as to say that Miller is the best closer in the NFL right now, and a player that you can count on to clinch a close victory a high percentage of the time.

We got to see that in action at the Pro Bowl, the last time any Denver Broncos players will take the field until next season.

Miller is of course known for his great speed off the edge, but one aspect of his game that is often overlooked is how well he converts that speed to power.

Exhibit A:

Just look at Von time the snap, first of all, and look at what he does to the Pro Bowl tackle Andrew Whitworth.

I don’t care if Whitworth is typically a left tackle or not. That’s an incredible move by Miller to just throw him to the ground like he’s a practice dummy.

Even in an All-Star game, this is a display of the rare types of things Miller is capable of.

This play has me absolutely pumped up.

Miller takes it to Duane Brown on this play, getting leverage and using one arm to push him all the way back into quarterback Jared Goff, from whom he simply takes the football.

Miller did everything on this play, including embarrassing his NFC counterparts.

This guy is a freak of nature, and seeing him do this kind of stuff even in a Pro Bowl setting gets me excited for the Broncos to be competitive again. Because when Denver is in a close game, they can count on Miller to seal the deal. That’s why he’s one of the highest paid defenders ever.

Though the Pro Bowl means nothing, this was a treat to watch.
