Denver Broncos: List of non-preferred quarterback scenarios
Josh Allen
If I were a team looking for a quarterback this offseason, Josh Allen would not be a bad option at all.
But I don’t think he’s the right option for the Denver Broncos.
Why?
Well, Allen — to me — is a prospect that’s going to need some time to develop. The Broncos already have one of those in Paxton Lynch, and I’m not so sure Allen fits the mold of what Denver really needs at the position. If the Broncos had an established veteran like Peyton Manning, and it was clear he had just a year or two left to play, Allen would honestly be the best possible type of guy.
Let him learn under a poised veteran who operates like a professional in every area. The Broncos don’t have that, and right now, they would be asking more of Allen than I think he’s capable of offering.
If the Broncos were to sign someone as a ‘bridge’ quarterback — Sam Bradford, Tyrod Taylor, or someone like that — then Allen becomes a much more attractive and enticing option. But if you’re planning a complete rebuild around him?
That’s scary.
