Second Round: Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville

As I stated in the previous slide, I don’t think the addition of Tyrod Taylor would prevent the Broncos from drafting a quarterback at five overall, and I certainly don’t think it would prevent them from taking a player they like in round two either.

I have no idea if the Broncos are among the teams that would be interested in creating an offense around Jackson, but whatever they would do with Taylor, I would assume is also something they could do with Jackson.

There is no more dynamic talent in the draft than this one. On any given play, any result is a possibility. Jackson is faster than almost any player in this year’s class, and he can use that speed to break off a 90-yard touchdown run just as easily as he can effortlessly flick the ball 70 yards downfield in a bucket for a score.

Jackson’s progression as a passer this past season was encouraging to watch, and gives me confidence he can be a franchise QB at the next level. Getting into the fold in Denver where you now would have Saquon Barkley in this scenario, I think Jackson would be a very exciting piece.
