4. Linebacker

Current players under contract: Brandon Marshall

Impending Free Agents: Todd Davis (UFA), Corey Nelson (UFA), Zaire Anderson (ERFA), Jerrol Garcia-Williams (ERFA), Joseph Jones (ERFA)

The Broncos’ linebacker position is primed to be depleted via free agency this year, but they will have a chance to bring back some solid depth players who are exclusive rights free agents.

But as of right now, the only player under contract for 2018 is Brandon Marshall, who signed a big extension last year and is one of the leaders of this Denver defense.

The Broncos could look into bringing back one of either Todd Davis or Corey Nelson, but I think they are likely to move on from both of those players.

What will the Broncos do?

This year’s draft class at linebacker is very, very good. Like I said earlier in this post, it’s crazy how well the draft crop aligns with Denver’s overall needs as a team.

Players like Roquan Smith, Tramaine Edmunds, Rashaan Evans, Josey Jewell, and many others lead the way for this star-studded group, and I think the Broncos will be able to snag a starter with one of their day two selections.

This is a position they could look for a bargain in free agency, but with this class of players in the draft, there’s really no need. They could even double up in the draft with a player on day two and day three, and maybe even find contributors in undrafted free agency.

They are set up well at this position with what’s going to be available to them.
