Carlos Henderson, the third round draft pick for the Denver Broncos in 2017, was arrested and charged on Sunday for marijuana possession.
An outside option for the Denver Broncos, Carlos Henderson spent his 2017 campaign on injured reserve. He had thumb surgery that forced him to miss the entire season.
Two weeks after the season has ended for the Broncos, Henderson has found himself in trouble with the law.
On Sunday, Carlos Henderson was arrested. He charged with marijuana possession. According to the report, Carlos Henderson was going 20-plus miles over the speed limit on a road in Louisiana. What turned into a simple traffic stop did not stop there.
The officer smelled an odor that resembled marijuana. Carlos Henderson mentioned that he and the passenger were not smoking anything when the officer asked. During the search, the police found marijuana in the vehicle.
The NFL off season has not started yet. However, a Broncos player finds themselves in trouble. It is such a shame that a player can not follow the rules of the state. If this was Colorado, Henderson would have been okay with the law. But the incident happened in Louisiana.
John Elway has noted that despite Colorado being one of the only states that legalizes it, that he does not tolerate the use. Denver released a statement in regards to the charge.

This is not a good start to the Denver Broncos offseason. Carlos Henderson was likely going to battle for some time on the field in 2018. It is uncertain what kind of punishment could be awaiting Henderson. But it will be something to keep an eye on.
Something tells me that John Elway will not be a fan of this discovery. I can see a team suspension handed down.
