Five reasons to believe unrestricted free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins will be a member of the Denver Broncos in a couple of months…

The Denver Broncos are going to be looking hard at quarterbacks this offseason, but does the discussion start and end with Washington Redskins impending free agent Kirk Cousins?

It certainly seems that way.

We now have a report from Troy Renck that the Broncos will pursue Cousins along with at least one prominent player on the team campaigning specifically for him.

Brandon Marshall was on NFL Network talking about the Broncos’ quarterback position, and what he had to say is worth listening to.

Marshall’s opinion is likely shared by a number of players on the roster who are ready to get back to competing like the Broncos did back in 2015 with Peyton Manning in the house.

Nobody in the quarterback crop this year is Peyton Manning, but Cousins might be the best long-term option out there that would be available on the free agent market.

That is, Cousins is a proven commodity who could sign a five or six-year contract and play the best football of his career over the next few seasons.

There’s risk involved with signing someone to a big money deal as well as investing a high draft choice in the quarterback position again, but the Broncos will have plans in place.

I’m going to propose five reasons why Cousins will be a Bronco in 2018 and beyond, though none of these reasons obviously make this a certainty.
