While many Broncos fans were upset about the DeMarcus Walker pick in the second round, those same people also felt like the team got excellent value in round three when they picked Louisiana Tech’s Carlos Henderson, arguably the best all-purpose player in the country in 2016.

Henderson racked up more yards (receiving, rushing, returning) than any player in the nation in 2016, and he was expected to compete to be the Broncos’ slot receiver.

Unfortunately, he suffered a thumb injury in training camp and was placed on injured reserve despite a shorter initial timeline for recovery.

For 2018, Henderson is going to be counted on to make a significant impact on the Broncos’ offense. He should be considered a favorite to play the slot receiver position depending on what other moves are made at wide receiver, including the uncertain futures of Emmanuel Sanders, Cody Latimer, and Bennie Fowler.
