Denver Broncos 2017 rookie class review and predictions for 2018

Reviewing the Denver Broncos rookie class from 2017, and projecting their impact for the 2018 season. Who will emerge in their sophomore year?

The Denver Broncos’ 2017 rookie class did not provide the instant impact as a whole that many expected when these players were initially brought in.

As Jeff Legwold pointed out, the most significant thing this year’s rookie class may have done is highlight the gap that exists between the young players on the team and the players who were part of the Super Bowl 50 victory.

We’ll have to wait and see if time really does heal all wounds, or if the Broncos’ front office will permanently split up some of the stronger personalities in the locker room, but one thing is for certain:

Nobody is entitled to anything.

As Vance Joseph put it, the rookie class had to be ‘dragged along’ by the veteran players on this Broncos team. That simply can’t be the culture that is allowed in the locker room, and could be a key reason why such a talented team failed to live up to any sort of expectations, even the most mediocre ones.

Winning doesn’t come easy in the NFL, and Super Bowl titles aren’t just handed out to teams with the most rich history of winning.

This was a rookie class that came in, and apparently thought that things would be easy. They aren’t.

But they learned a ton as the season wore along, and I think the Broncos will be better for it.
