The Denver Broncos have announced three coaching staff hires, including ST coordinator Tom McMahon, DBs coach Greg Williams, and OL coach Chris Strausser…
The Denver Broncos announced three coaching moves on Wednesday, including their new special teams coordinator Tom McMahon. That move was initially reported on Tuesday night by one of McMahon’s former players, former Colts punter Pat McAfee.
The Broncos weren’t done making moves there, making official the promotion of Chris Strausser as their offensive line-tackles coach, as well as Greg Williams as a defensive backs-cornerbacks coach.
Strausser was with the Broncos last season in an assistant role coaching the offensive line, and had spent the majority of his coaching years prior to that at the collegiate level with Washington and Boise State.

He and Sean Kugler were together for a season at Boise State in the late 2000s, and actually coached Ryan Clady together that year.
Now, they are back together again with the Broncos, only now, at the NFL level.
It’s a small world, I guess.
Denver’s biggest hire announced Wednesday was the hiring of McMahon on special teams, but I feel like they got another pretty good one from the Colts’ coaching staff in Greg Williams, who had done wonders the past couple of years with Rashaan Melvin and a number of other players in that secondary.
He will officially be coaching the Broncos’ cornerbacks, with Marcus Robertson retained as the team’s lead defensive backs coach, and presumably with an emphasis on coaching safeties.
The Broncos also reportedly hired their new wide receivers coach, former Chicago Bears assistant Zach Azzanni.
Azzanni was in his first year as an NFL position coach this past year, after spending a number of years at the collegiate level, including a stint with Central Michigan where he coached Antonio Brown.
The Broncos’ lone remaining coaching vacancy (as far as we know) is a ‘pass rush’ coach, with Reggie Herring overseeing all of the linebackers.
