The Denver Broncos need more playmakers on offense. The tight end position could use an upgrade. Here are 2018 free agents that could fit…

The Denver Broncos will obviously be in the market for help on the offensive side of the ball this offseason, and one position that has pretty good depth in free agency is at tight end.

The Broncos have their own impending unrestricted free agent at tight end in Virgil Green, so he will need to be replaced in some form or fashion. Jeff Heuerman has proven himself capable of taking over the primary blocking tight end role, while the Broncos felt they also got a second round caliber player last year in Jake Butt, who has yet to suit up in an NFL game due to injury.

Austin Traylor was very solid down the stretch for Denver as well, so the team has a decent group of tight ends on paper but no one who has proven to be a consistent enough threat at the NFL level just yet.

That is why I think, along with the quarterback position, the Broncos will look to free agency for a new (possible starter) at tight end. They need a veteran presence, and this is the year to go and get one.

Let’s explore the options…
