3. Linebacker

Roquan Smith, ILB, Georgia; Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama

This may be the position in this game that someone on either side of the ball can really just take over.

We saw in the second half of Georgia’s semi-final game against Oklahoma how Roquan Smith can absolutely destroy an offensive gameplan, and we saw the same in Alabama’s semi-final matchup against Clemson from Rashaan Evans.

Both players are instinctive, and both can play in the mud as well as in coverage.

Smith may be the fastest player on the field whenever he’s on it, and that speed translates in his game. He’s not just a fast guy that struggles to make plays because he’s not as good at football as he is fast. This guy is a top 10 talent as an off-ball linebacker, which is hard to do.

Evans is a player you can move to different positions (so is Smith, to a degree) with more size (6-3, 235) than Smith (6-1, 225) but a very diverse way to destroy offensive gameplans.

These two players are going to be fun to watch.
