The Denver Broncos made a strong hire for their offensive line coach, bringing in former UTEP head coach Sean Kugler, who has an interesting connection…
A report out of El Paso, Texas indicates the Denver Broncos have their newest offensive line coach.
Sean Kugler, the most recent ‘former’ head coach of the UTEP football program and a former NFL offensive line coach (2008-2012, Buffalo and Pittsburgh) has apparently agreed to a deal to be the Denver Broncos’ o-line coach.
Here’s the initial report:

The Denver Broncos were a unit in transition on the offensive line this past year, under the direction of longtime NFL offensive line coach and former offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson.
Denver decided that Davidson’s work was not satisfactory, and parted ways with him the day after the final game of the season.
With Davidson out and Kugler in, the Broncos’ offensive line will hopefully get another jolt, which I felt like it did this past year.

Still, they were unable to put together any consistency at right tackle or left guard, and the pass protection was horrendous for the majority of the season.
Kugler will be in charge of bringing to life a unit that has been among the league’s worst since Ryan Clady was injured in 2013 and 2014.
Speaking of Clady…
Kugler was Clady’s position coach at Boise State back in 2006. It was only for a year, but Clady remembered his time with Kugler fondly.
Most recently, Kugler has been working with a player that is expected to be a top two or three round player in the 2018 NFL Draft, left guard Will Hernandez.
Hernandez has started 49 consecutive games for the Miners, and will participate in the 2018 Reese’s Senior Bowl, which the Broncos will now be coaching at.
This is a great start to the reshaping of the Broncos’ coaching staff, getting someone with NFL experience and someone with a connection to one of the best prospects in this year’s draft at a position of need.
