4th Round (pick 2/2): Godwin Igwebuike, S, Northwestern
With the departure this past pre-season of T.J. Ward, the Denver Broncos have a little bit of need for depth at the safety position.
With one of their two fourth round picks, I love the idea of adding a ‘veteran’ college player like Godwin Igwebuike, who has been stellar for Northwestern as a strong safety.

Strategically, a player like Igwebuike would allow the Broncos to move Justin Simmons to free safety and keep Will Parks in the hybrid role as almost an extension of the linebacker position. Depending on what happens with Aqib Talib, the Broncos could also be looking for a cornerback that can come in and play some nickel snaps here as well.
Darian Stewart has really struggled this season and could be a cap casualty or trade candidate this offseason, so the Broncos may have to address the safety position one way or another.
They have a couple of players in-house that are intriguing options, but a player like Igwebuike could potentially play starting snaps or at least in the 45-50 percent range as a rookie.
