4th Round (pick 1/2): J.C. Jackson, CB, Maryland

J.C. Jackson is a day one or two caliber prospect in terms of on-field talent, but the former Florida Gator has an off-field history that will unquestionably cause NFL teams pause on draft weekend.

Jackson was arrested in connection with an armed robbery, where he was reportedly with some people who pulled handguns on a group of people in their apartment, but left before the incident occurred.

So, he was released from the Florida football program as a former four-star recruit, played a year of Community College football, and transferred to Maryland in 2016. He’s been the player everyone had hoped for when he was taking first-team reps at Florida before his injury and off-field incident.

With three plus years of clean off-field activity, Jackson will need to convince teams that he’s no longer running around with people who could impact his professional career.

If he does, this is a player with great size, length, physicality, and ball skills. If the Broncos move on from Aqib Talib this offseason, they’ll have to address the position at some point, despite using a third round pick on Brendan Langley in 2017.
